This is my second Vermont Casting BBQ - Here is why

I purchased my first Vermont Castings NG BBQ from my TOR gas distributor in 2001. A tank: heavy, as many parts were actually cast in those days, and It kept its temperature! It served me well for over 15 years, during which I converted the unit to propane and could obtain parts. What I liked most: a. sturdy brown grill cover (an accessory, today, to be purchased separately, but still sturdy according to the salesman) and an excellent grease recovery system. Today's grease recovery system is even better. The cooking results of any grill entirely depends on the cook. If you care about grease and cleaning, this unit is for you. As Canadian Tires owns the VERMONT CASTINGS trademark in the Class 011 category (barbecues, grills, accessories) and markets its BBQs from coast to coast in Canada, parts should be readily available for many years.

frustrating

the circle around the main dial that tells me if the bbq is on or off and/or what temperature was attached with glue I guess, and it fell off almost immediately and now I can't tell what is going on. They should have embossed permanently (think braille for Helen Keller) the knob so that it would last. It seems like a nice piece of equipment but I am struggling to get it to function properly. Like it is TOO COMPLICATED or just weird. I need verbal help but cannot seem to get it.

They’re warranty covers nothing that actually needs warranty

I have the previous model of this one the all black, This is the updated version, and it’s clear that there were many complaints about the quality of the original. The black paint chips all over the food from the inside of the lid, and they claim it’s just cooking residue, but it’s paint chips, not cooking residue. If it wasn’t a defect, why did they change all their products from that design to paintless stainless steel ? It also rusted while covered. The warranty is terrible for what you pay. You’re better off with a Neapolitan or Webber from Costco, where they’ll actually fix problems you’re facing. BBQs are expensive and shouldn’t have to be replaced after two years for the price you pay for them. Do better with your warranty and products. Definitely won’t be a returning customer of Vermont casting and will recommend everyone to Costco before investing in a bbq from Vermont casting or Canadian tire.

this is an excellent example of quality craftsmanship manufactured in America Affords the ability to set and maintain consistent temperature which is an essential part of barbecuing
